The Australian School of Advanced Medicine
Facilities
Construction on the Macquarie University Private Hospital is well underway. The hospital, which is expected to be completed by mid -2009, will include:
- 120 in-patient beds
- 20 intensive care and coronary care beds
- 10 operating theatres
- 2 cardiac angiography suites
- 24 day surgery beds
- Radiosurgery
- Cyclotron facility
- Biomechanical laboratory
- Physiotherapy including hydrotherapy
- Coffee shop
The hospital will be linked to the Macquarie University Clinic which will include the Australian School of Advanced Medicine and three floors of consulting suites.
The school will include:
- 1800 sq metres of purpose-built research laboratories
- The Centre for the Advancement of Medical Education
- A dedicated Skills Centre and an Anatomy Laboratory
The current teaching hospital until the new facility is opened is Dalcross Private Hospital.
